Utility rebate and incentive programs for lighting retrofits or replacing and upgrading to new lighting are varied and constantly changing. Because of the uncertainty of utility rebate programs, now is the time to move forward with a retrofit before a program changes or expires.
What many businesses don’t realize is that each year state governments mandate that electric, gas and water utilities collect billions of dollars from rate payers and redistribute these funds in the form of cash rebates and other incentives to help offset the cost of these energy-efficient projects.
Utility companies promoting energy efficiency through lighting retrofits are offering tremendous incentives for an LED lighting retrofit or an upgrade to Induction Lighting. At the same time, we have seen where funds suddenly “dried up” and the rebate program was suspended for the year. In one case, the rebate funds for replacing Metal Halide parking lot lights with Induction Lighting were completely exhausted by February 2012.
Another reason for implementing a lighting retrofit project now is
YOU’RE LOSING MONEY!
Here’s the deal. The savings realized through a lighting retrofit or lighting upgrade are large enough savings to pay for the upgrade in 24 months or less and, in many cases, put extra dollars in your pocket. Energy efficient upgrades like LED retrofit or new Induction Lighting fixtures offer you savings year after year. Money that goes straight to the bottom line.
Whether you have 1, 2 or 200 stores, as energy costs continue to rise, an energy efficient upgrade to your interior and exterior lighting will help you save money immediately and will return long term savings for years to come.
